So Georgia and I visited Nashville in August and top of our list of things to do was to visit the Nashville Country Music Hall of Fame.
We purchased our tickets through Viator using their reservation option where you can reserve your tickets and the money is taken from your account two days before. Tickets then become available in the Viator App. We paid #23 each for entry and audio tour, but unfortunately missed out on the tour and ended up self guiding which was not ideal. If you are a little older like me then you would at least recognize some of the older country music stars but I’m not sure G knew who some of them were.
We actually got to the Hall of Fame using the Trolley Bus Tour (see our separate blog and our Nashville vlog on this). As we had booked a ticket to travel on the Trolley Bus Tour all day, we just hopped off at the stop outside the Hall of Fame and when we were done, we waited for the next Trolley to come and pick us up. It really was hassle free.
As we were staying out near Music Row, the other option would have been for us to catch an uber from the hotel which would have cost around $8. In the August heat with temperatures touching around 39 degrees it was certainly too hot to walk!
I would say that it will take you around 2 hours to get around all of the exhibits - there are exhibits from every country star you can think of, from Dolly Parton to Taylor Swift, from John Denver to Chris Stapleton and from Johnny Cash to Luke Combs. Luke had a whole row to himself, detailing his rise to stardom, some of his stage costumes and hand written lyrics.
There is of course the huge wall covered in gold discs which is impressive and there are listening stations and information about all of the different artists featured together with an abundance of memorabilia including classic cars and of course, dozens of guitars.
There is a large gift shop, where, of course, we purchased our normal fridge magnet but also a white rhinestone etched cow(girl) hat for G! No it’s not leather, but hey, at $45 it was a bargain and she wore it throughout our visit to Nashville and on every plane journey we took after that (it wasn’t going in our suitcase in case it got squashed so it became her airport hat - worn through Nashville, Chicago, Vegas, San Francisco and Seattle airports!!).

There was a coffee shop on the ground floor where we stocked up on coffee and water before heading back out into the heat to meet the Trolley Bus Tour.
It’s worth noting that opposite the Hall of Fame is the Music City Walk of Fame where you will find stars in the pavement commemorating past and present stars of country music, all set within a grassed area / park. Follow the path and it will take you back towards the Broadway area and the Bridgestone Arena.
We enjoyed our visit and it was a big tick on our long list of things to do in the US, however as huge Luke Combs fans we were a little disappointed at not being able to buy merchandise in the shop. We did however manage to get a magnet, tree decoration, the hat (of course) and a guitar shaped squeaky toy for our dog!
So, whatever you decide to do in Nashville, enjoy!
See you soon
