There's no doubt that Greek men are some of the most straight-forward people, especially when it comes to relationships. However, if you are ever in doubt about your s/o's potential feelings for you, here some of my best tips, to help you seal the deal.
He is protective
After the initial first few weeks/months of casual dating has passed, if your greek man starts getting protective of you, its a sign he is ready to take things to the next level. When I say protective, I don't mean possessive, so please don't get them mixed up!
He will start to hold hands with you when you walk through busy streets or cross the road, he will have a constant hand on your arm, or his leg brushing on yours, as you social with his friends at a bar.
Many Greeks have a natural love language of physical touch, it is just in their culture! So when you start to see these signs, just know his feelings for you are progressing.
He praises you often
Let's be honest, Greek people in general are beautiful. I mean they literally derive from the likes of Aphrodite and various Greek gods! The Greek men have their fair share of beautiful woman who they could pursue and potentially call their own, and they chose you. If your man starts to compliment your appearance or notice even the smallest of changes, he is intrigued by you and wants to take things further.
He introduces you to his friends
As mentioned in my '7 things to know before dating a greek man' post, Greeks are extremely socialable people. It is normal for them to be out with a big group of friends, at a small local cafe until the early hours of the morning. Greek men spend a lot of time socialising! Don't be disheartened if in the beginning of your relationship, (let's call it your probation period!), the man will schedule you around his friends, at their convenience. With this being said, when you notice your s/o start to invite you to gatherings with his friends, this is a good sign that he likes you and wants to show you off. He spends a lot of time with his friends, and whilst he doesn't want (nor should have to) give this up, he wants to spend a lot more time with you as well! Make sure you try your best to impress them, as he may even see this as a trial period before meeting his family!
He introduces you to his family
The biggest step a greek man (or any greek person in fact) can make in a relationship, is introducing their s/o to their family. Greeks value their family more than anything. They worship the ground their mother and father walk on, so their approval is extremely important to them. Unlike in more western cultures where meeting the parents early in a relationship has become the norm, it is not unusual for an extended period of time to go by before you will be introduced to a Greek family. Greeks see meeting the family as a confirmation for the future as to the success of the relationship. With this being said, it is extremely important that the family like you, especially his beloved mother, as her approval may even determine whether he wishes to pursue the relationship further! (See more in my '7 things to know before dating a greek man' article!). Make sure you bring your A-game to impress them!
He buys you gifts
Whilst Greek men are genuinely extremely giving people, this is often in the form of gifts of service. i.e. paying for the bill on a night out. Greek men are often very proud, they like to provide and show off how much money they have. This isn't always in a bragging way, but more in a 'I can take care of you so you are not allowed to pay' type of way!
However, Greeks are genuine creatures and will not try to buy your love to show off their wealth. If a Greek man buys you a gift(s), it means he has put time and effort into paying attention to the things you like, and is wanting to further express his interest in you by buying you things. It is another form of expressing his love.
His body language
Greek men are typically very expressive talkers, they speak with their hands all the time. However, pay close attention to his body language. Does he lean in more, making direct, pro-longed eye contact when he talks to you, do he look at your mouth when you laugh? Is he touching your back whilst talking to you? Does he have a constant hand in yours or on your arm whilst with his family and friends? These are all signs that he is infatuated with you and is trying to form a deeper connection.
