So G and I visited Fabulous Las Vegas in late August / early September 2024 and decided, after a lot of research (!), to visit Como for a special birthday llunch for G.
Como is really a beach style restaurant, based in the pool area of The Bellagio. It is a Mediterranean restaurant serving salads, main meals and desserts. With a fully stocked bar we actually ended up ordering two mocktails (strawberry daiquiri) as it was just too hot for alcohol.
As it was G’s birthday she had the pick of the menu and chose a Greek salad, a Mediterranean wrap, with a souvlaki type meal with skewers of meat and mediterranean vegetables for me.
With it being G’s birthday (and I had of course advised the restaurant of this in advance!) we were given a free desert - a passion fruit posset, with cream and berries, with lemon and strawberry macarons on the side as well as having ‘Happy Birthday’ written on the plate in chocolate!
I have to say the service at the Como was great - the staff were very attentive and made sure that we had a pleasant meal. As neither of us wanted a large Greek salad, they actually split one large salad into two bowls so that we had one each, but only charged us for the one Greek salad. A nice touch.
Our meal of salad, souvlaki style skewers, wrap and our fake daiquiri’s came in at around $120 including tax. We did have some reservations about coming to Como purely because it is located next to the pool but it is away from the sun loungers and the pool itself and was actually a really lovely experience.
So, would I visit again? Yes, I think I would! The food and service were great and you could almost forget that you are in the middle of a huge hotel complex in a major US city.
So, I hope you too visit Como and have an enjoyable meal
See you soon
